Big up to Call centre Agents?!!!!

So I have been at home for nine months now, vigourously pursuiting my writing career and bam...I run into one massive financial slump. You see, my money went towards furthering my studies, and inevitably I thought I would land a job by now. But unfortunately in South Africa, just like everywhere in the world right now, there seems to be the new trend of unemployment. I seriously cannot venture into that right now as all my pennies are tied up elsewhere. But that is the least of my problems. I have an overdraft that is so minimal but find myself being hounded by at least ten different call-centre agents per day. " I am unemployed and can only afford to pay you the amount that I have to suck out of a rock" better yet "She's not here but I'll get her to call you."Well, now I get that the answer is not clearly understood ny these people, because ten minutes later, someone named Marilyn or Steve will be calling to find out the exact same thing as the ten other people before them. I try to pay whatever I can each month and yes I have made arrangements but here in SA these people change the arrangements in order to meet target. I need to understand why people without any insight to see further than the given instruction and target deadline and are just plain dumb are employed in positions as these. Wow, I think I have the answer, it's because they're dumb enough to get the job done. Well, so here I am praying that a miracle would happen for me to win the lotto or some thing and get all my stuff together to get these robots out of my life. Oh another thing, eventhough I am to blame for my own situation, why is it only in SA that qualified Forensic Scientists get cancelled contracts only to have unqualified people to do the job? Is the company not going to spend more on training this individual eventhough they will be saving on the costs of having an educated person's salary to pay? I don't know anymore. This place seriously confuses me!!!!?..........

Job Space

A newbie in an industry unknown to you seems utterly daunting. Well, this had happened to me with dire consequences. Being too nice and allowing too much inevitably got to me and who had I to blame? Only myself. The office environment suits so many, but throw in the current recession, with its job losses and all and what do you have, low and behold a complete financial crisis.

I thought that the challenge in entering this world would give me great experience. It did for some time until, the restructuring began. This provoked happy working environments to turn into conniving back stabbing. Well, hey, I am sitting in fromt of my computer right now and breathing a deep breath of fresh air. Although I am now officially listed as a slow payer, at least I found my happiness in words and doing what I had studied for.  I seriously do not want to divulge more about what had happened but hey, there it is. In one confusing nutshell. Now I spend each day constructing the next short story, or the next investigative article, with the pleasure of not having to watch my back constantly. :) Relief at last.
